Over lapping gable roofs

I am trying to create a typical gable roof where two off set roof planes meet  as shown in the attached image. Is there a way to configure the roof properties to create this type of roof. I have tried for several hours without success. Any help would be appreciated.

From your picture I cannot tell which roof ridge you want to move; but the process will work for either one.

Pick the roof side whose ridge you wish to move (selected; all other roof portions NOT selected) and change the roof pitch/angle (right click, properties), probably to a more shallow/less angle and the ridge will move away from the fascia. Keep changing the angle until it moves to where you want it.

Doug, thanks for the reply. Maybe the attached image will be clearer. Reducing the pitch changes the position of the ridge, what I want to do is to extend the ridges as shown.

While I have not tried this on overlapping roofs (does work on a single roof), it seems you really just want the overhang to be longer; i.e. extend the overhang.
Overhang is set as a default but can be changed.

Select the roof edge overhang you want to extend, right-click/properties, change the overhang amount in the dialog box to  larger value, then OK.
Do for both roofs.

I'm not sure if this is the result you are looking for, but I think you have to create each roof (house segment) at a separate location and create two individual roofs.  This way you can have the gable on both of the adjacent walls without the roof ridge meeting in the middle, i.e. two individual ridges.  You can then extend the overhang as far as you want it on each gable independent of the other.

Yes Bjorn, that is exactly what I want, thanks for your explanation. Following your lead I did it a little different. I created the walls on the same location and one section of the roof (Pick by points) and then placed the other part of the roof on another location. The results were the same as yours.
