Project estimate help

I am trying to interpret the output of the project estimator.  I have created a 10' x 10' building with 8' wall and a crawlspace foundation using 6"x12"strip footings and 12" walls 3' high.

The estimate is:

The default values for units of measure in the program settings are imperial and include Cubic Feet, square feet and inches.

the value of 36 shown in the above estimate is clearly the surface area of the strip footing, not the cubic feet of concrete needed.

How do I get the program to output cubic feet (or yards) of concrete.

Also, wall area value of 327 seems odd to me.  The last time I checked 4*8*10 = 320.  Am I missing something here?

Siding will be calculated using the outside dimensions of the walls and will also include the dropped exterior facing (default of 1'). So, if you snap to a grid the outside of a 10' x 4" wall will be 10'4" and the inside dimension 9'8".

Footing outputs in cubic yards, not cubic feet, as does most of the cement, I think. So your number does look odd. However, my catalogue doesn't have 6" x 1' so if you added it you probably have to go in and add / change a calculation or something somewhere.

TFP isn't as well set up for materials lists as some professional programs but it's pretty adjustable.  Go to the "Elements Manager" to change prices, in the "Library Manager" you can choose "Libraries" then "Assembly" to see a breakdown of all the parts of the wall (siding, insulation, etc).

Personally, I wouldn't recommend going in and changing any of the default formulas, though it seems to be possible.  I usually export to an Excel file and make changes there (though it exports as text with no formulas).
