Allan or anyone know the differences between the new "personal architect" and TFP pro 16?

Hi Dean,

Essentially there is no difference except that Personal Architect V4 (just released) is two versions later.

TFP V16 is based on Envisioneer V7  while Personal Architect V3 was based Envisioneer V8 and Personal  Architect V4 is based on Envisioneer V9. In other words it is two versions on from TFP V16. Functionality and compatibility is the same as TFP V16 but has the additional features and updates from the later versions of Envisioneer that TFP has not had.

It will open existing TFP projects and will use the existing TFP catalogue if you have customized the contents

Is there a user forum for PA v4? much like this forum was for TFPv16?

And do you know of any reduced upgrade prices for previous cadsoft TFPv16 users or a reduced price promo code?

Hi Doug.

No there is no separate forum but this one is still available or the Envisioneer one.

There is no upgrade promotion because PA is sold directly by Cadsoft not via IMSI Design, although it seems to be on special at the moment.

I purchased, downloaded, and installed PA4.1
It seems to work pretty much like TFP16 with a new render engine and a new navigation tool uses
All seems to be working OK so far with a simple default basic one room house
I don't have a project just yet but I'm ready

Any particular bugs to be careful of?

Hi Doug,

Yes it should work exactly the same - in effect it would have been TFP V18.  It has some new features of course, the ones you mentioned (navigation and rendering engine) being the main ones. The new navigation is optional - you can turn it off. Rendering is now possible with interior lights on and daylight also. Some tweaking is still necessary but good results are possible.

You will notice that Basic render has gone. Quality 1 setting is good for most things and is quick. You only need to go higher for special or final renders but these are much slower.

I am not aware of any bugs.
