Dynamic readjust dimensions

    I probably haven't looked in the right place, but I just can't find anything telling me how to display wall dimensions dynamically as I readjust them?  Suppose I draw a wall horizontally(wall 'A'), and then I want to draw another wall(wall 'B') in the middle of wall 'A', and wall 'B' is going vertically(perpindicular to wall 'A').  Everything is OK until I finish and realize I want wall 'B' to be another 6" longer. Well, I can select wall 'B' and move the end of it, but I have no idea how much I'm moving it until I finish.  Then, I have to play around with the "nudge" and the keyboard arrows to get it to the size I want. Is there anyway(setting) for me to see what the size of wall 'B' is as I make it larger or smaller?  I know I can click on it's dimension and set it to the size I want, but then FP starts messing about with the other walls that connect to wall 'B' and that's even worse!

As you describe it, I don't believe that the length is displayed as you drag.

The solution is probably to zoom in close and set/show the grid....like 1" or 6" or to what ever accuracy you desire....then "count the grid squares" as you drag.

Or you can draw in construction lines (menu/tools/layout) and position as needed, then drag to the construction line (snap if desired)...delete or "no print" (hide drafting (select tab) lines; turn off the "eye") construction lines

Or you can use a .jpg or similar file and use it to "trace" over.

Or if you know a position you can insert a temp. wall, then drag till you hit that wall, then delete the temp. wall

All you have to do to see the dimension dynamically as you drag, is to right click the wall you want to extend, select Lengthen and drag the wall - you will see the dimensions change in the Commander Bar (as long as that is turned on -Settings/Program Settings/Workspace if not).  This will not move the other walls even if you type into the Comander Bar.  To type into the Comander bar you must click back on the wall again after you select Lengthen - then just drag and watch or type the value. The other walls will stay in place.
