TurboPro17 vs Home 2

I am so pleased to find TurboPro17. The last time I had a design program that didn't need 2 yrs university to understand was about 20 years ago with Home 2. Home 2 unfortunately got hit by a bus with new tech in computers and didn't keep up. I designed numerous projects on Home 2 and was extremely annoyed when I had to go back to graph paper.

After a few design try-outs on TurboPro I've found a few things that didn't seem to work right but of course it all seems to be there if you read enough. This forum helps immensely to shorten the learning curb.

At the moment I have stairs lining up on the floor plan but not in 3d and a floor cutout extending framing through the lower ceiling off default settings. I'm sure that a bit more reading will fix this also

Cudos to the program writers here for keeping me out of university with user friendly design programs.

Hi there,

Regarding the stairs, keep in mind that you must place it in the lower floor going to the upper floor. You must create the cutout manually.
Tip: a very important setting => the elevation and thickness of the floor and the cutout must be the same

TFP 17, as any program, has a learning curve. For this reason, this is my best advice: read the guide and practice + practice + practice.
