layout toolbar

sorry, probably very stupid question - apologise in advance! have just bought this, struggling gamely, not doing too bad! But, please, can someone tell me how to find the 'layout toolbar' - am drawing interior plan in 2D plan view - not designer view, just drawing! - and would like to add title boxes for names, plan number etc. I have searched everything I can in the program - have investigated 'settings/toolbars' and there does not appear to be a 'layout' setting anywhere - or am I missing something? I just want to set up some 'boxes' - rectangle tool?  I would use it if I could unearth it! - and insert some simple text!
Or is it missing from my installation disc - perfectly legal copy, bought recently from Amazon and registered.  Can I download a layout toolbar?

Hi Stevie,

Welcome to the forum.

The Off, Normal or Tabbed switch for the Layout toolbar is under Settings/ Program Settings / Toolbars. If it is not there I just wonder what version you are using? It is not available in some of the cheaper versions.

thank you so much for taking the trouble to reply. My version, is, unfortunately, one of the 'cheaper' versions - no idea about this when I bought it. I just wanted an inexpensive program for our occasional necessity for drawing specialist interior projects - I can do it quicker by hand!!! However, version is 'TurboFloorPlan Home and Interior 12' - I do know it's been superseded, but thought it might be adequate for our requirements.
No, the layout toolbar is most definitely NOT there - is it at all possible to download it from anywhere, it would help immensely. I've tried importing my 'heading' templates from another program, but - no can do!

Hi Stevie,

No it is not possible to download the Layout toolbar as an add-on - it only comes as part of the Pro version. I had a quick look on Amazon and there is a V16 Pro version which is a much more advanced version than your V12.

In case you are not aware, V16 is the last version in the series and is no longer available. V17 or the 2015 version are based on a totally different program and are not compatible with versions V12 - V16. If you want a program compatible with work and learning that you have already done, you could use Personal Architect. It takes over from V16 and includes the layout toolbar and many more advanced features.. Alternatively V17 or 2015 may also do what you want but with a new learning curve of course.

Once you get used to one of these programs you will find it much quicker than drawing by hand and it will look infinitely more professional.

thank you for your reply and explanation - I will have a look at the programs you suggest. Trouble is, sometimes when one buys these things one doesn't realise that they don't do what you think they will until you discover they don't do something you didn' t know you'd want them to do!!!!!
