Hello all
I need to produce 3 x gable ends on a 'L' shaped building. I have tried for half of this day and failed to do it myself any help would be appreciated. Each gable end (wall) will have a window in it to gain some good views.
I attach a .jpg pic showing what I am trying to do, both ridges are at the same height. I have got some wonderful futuristic options in playing around with various roof ideas but not satisfactory results in trying to get this layout.

To get gable ends you select the roof, click on the edges you want to be gables (arrow turns green) and in the Properties click the Roof Shape icon and choose Gable. (Make sure you only have selected the parts of the roof you want to be a gable - green arrows. If any are green that you don't want as gables click them again so they are red)

For the side that is probably causing your problem, you need to insert a 'Break 'in the edge of the roof (right Click, select break) and click along the roof edge where you want the gable to start(obviously in line with the other part of the L shape. (See image)  Once the break is there select just that part of the roof (green arrow) and change to a gable.

If you are putting windows in the gables then I assume this is a second floor in which case the roof needs to be on the second floor even if the walls are only a mm (fraction of an inch) high.  You can still insert windows even though the wall is so tiny.

Sometimes the obvious isn't always obvious and sometimes things are buried very deep as you will find.  If you are looking for some fine turing somewhere just double-click everything  (well almost everthing!).
