I saw a range of ceiling lamps on TF10 catalog that does not exist on TF12.
How do I export them from TF10?

been so long since I did this....so from memory,

from FP10 you can export an object as a .3ds file....start with just your object, select it and export

In TFP12 you can import the .3ds into the catalog or into the drawing and then save it to catalog...see the help file, there is a wizard to guide you thru importing

BUT...for a light, TFP12 is broke (bug) and you cannot import a light or anything into the catalog section for lights (TFP12 crash)

Not all is lost....you can import a light fixture (bulb gets lost/removed) into catalog for interior accessories OK and insert the fixture into a scene OK....then just insert a plain light bulb to generate light....or a TFP light and change all the fixture materials to transparent and you have just a bulb left to render lighting

Hi,

A Correction to Doug's method.

FP10 can only export DXF (we always had to use TurboCAD etc, to convert the DXF to a 3DS to Import as a single custom object back into FP)

I haven't got TFP, so don't know if it can import a 3D DXF and save in the catalogue directly.

Yes you can import a DXF file directly as a 3D object.
