How can I rotate my project

I drew my project with West to the right, which means that North is down. I would now like to rotate the entire project 180deg on the terrain so that north is facing up. Is there a way to do that?

Thanks,
Gary

I have never done so but recall it being covered in this forum, suggest you search forum to find....or check help file

As I remember it may be as easy as 'select all', then rotate....may need to do for each "location"

Gary,

Yes as Doug said it can be done. Edit/Select All, then right click Rotate. It will rotate around the point you click so if you click on a wall at the edge of the screen it will rotate off the screen so you may want to zoom out enough so that you can see where it is going.  However you can right click and Move so you can bring it back onto the terrain if necessary.

If you have two locations alignment can be a problem as there does not seem to be an automatic vertical alignment, but if you rotate both locations you can then zoom in really close on a corner and Move one location over the other.  Use the Nudge set to 1 mm (or fraction of inch) and you can then align exactly using the arrow keys (make sure you Select All again before moving).

Thanks to all for hanging in there with me!

I had tried Select All/Move, but it never did anything. Then I was reading another entry (for a different issue), which suggested turning off "collision" to make it work. I tried that and the move now works!

But I can't find a rotate command. When I do a Select All, the only commands available to me are: Deselect All, Delete, Move, Duplicate, Mirror.

If I try selecting only the house and deck, I also get the above. If I select only the property boundaries, there is a rotate, but I don't really want to rotate just the property boundaries.

OK, so with a bit of playing around, I discovered that if I turn off dimensions visibility, I can now do a select all and there is a rotate command. How quirky is that?

So, with dimensions off, I'm able to do select all, and rotate everything, including the property boundaries, at one time. Cool!

Just for grins, I turned on dimensions again, and as I suspected, they were all still in the old location. No biggie, I can just delete them and auto-recreate them.

But wait! I happened to have the roof hidden also when I did the rotate. Now when I unhide the roof, it is 10 times the size of the house (huh?), and 400 feet away, floating in air! That is just plain weird. Why would a structural element not be moved with the house, whether it's visible or not?

In re-reading the help section on using the view filter, they definitely make it sound like viewability and selectability are separate. The roof was invisible, but selectable, except for the framing. But the wall framing wasn't selectable either, so why did the walls work ok, but not the roof?

Seems like there might be some bugs here....

Gary,

Sounds like the Select All had not selected all and the unselected item was preventing the move until Collision was off.

Yes you must have everthing turned on as it will only rotate visible items - presumably so you can rotate some things and not others if necessary.
It will not allow rotate with the dimensions on - presumably because these are only a 2D item and the text would then be upside down - flipping all the text individually would be a programmers nightmare I suspect. Maybe it should be smart enough to turn them off before the rotate and apply again after but if you had added manual dimensions it again would be a programmers nightmare.

I tried it with the roof turned off and rotated it but although mine did not rotate the roof it was still in the same place and was the same size. I was able to just select the roof, rotate it and move it back over the walls.

How have you got your Hardware Acceleration set?  Having it on causes odd problems at times.
