elevation of single room

Ok I've looking, but I can't figure out how to lower the elevation of a single room.  I have a small family room I want to lower 6" lower then the rest of the house.  Any help would be appreciated.

Probably the best solution is to make another "location" (floor level) for that one room....and use its own set of walls, floor, ceiling etc.  But you will need to play with a good way to merge openings with other rooms as they share a common 3D space but they can interfere with each other if you are not careful...and you will need a step up/down.

Hard to imagine why you would want a 6" difference.....a lot of work for not much significance...and higher costs too.

It's going to be an entertainment room, trying to give it a "feel" of being somewhere else. But if it's to hard to figure out I'll drop the idea.

This is quite a common practice in Australia - especially a 'sunken lounge' or 'sunken home theatre'. If you have already got your walls in place all you need to do is Select the floor (in 3D) right click and enter -6" in the Elevate box and do the same with the walls.  If you have a roof on, then the walls will extend to the roof anyway, so they won't be short, but if you have crown molding then you will have to move it up the wall further or lower the ceiling also.

Note that this will lower the floor IF it was inserted 'by room' otherwise it will lower the floor in the whole house.  If you have the automatic floor through the whole building then delete it and insert the floors again 'by room' so you have separate control over them.

Even if you do it this way, which is very easy, you may still want to set a Location for it at the lower level or you will find you will have lower all the furniture so it sits on the floor - otherwise it will float 6" above the floor - although that would "give it a different feel!!" (but probably not the one you intended!)
