Mr Garystan,

A few lighting tips.

The sun is too bright to make basic interior lights work as is. Try assigning a higher wattage , switch to an exterior lamp starting with 400 W and adjusting from there by assigning it to a lamp or my favorite, a recessed light.

You can also try using 'cloudy day' instead of full sun.

Another thing you can do to eliminate 'hot spots' on the ceiling is to lower the bulb, Try -32".

You don't have to have all the lights on in a scene, what you want is good general overall lighting.

               Thanks for the advice.
               I printed your reply, that way I can put it into my  TFP binder.  That's
               where I keep all my referemce material for Turbo Floor Plan.
                   Question :   is there a way to adjust ALL (similar) lights at one time?
                   That way,  they'd all have the same settings.   Instead of going
               from light to light.
                    When I make objects in Google Sketchup,  and  make copies,  I can
               (hopefully I'm right on this) make them a Group and adjust all of them
               at the same time.

You can select one item, then right click and see drop down menu....may list 'Select all  that are similar' (or some such words) if it is available.

If you change some so they are different, then the selection by "same" will not work...when it says "same" it means it 'exactly' for property changes, except for perhaps size

Try it on walls, windows, etc.

Question :   is there a way to adjust ALL (similar) lights at one time?

I don't think the 'Select All Similar' works for lights unfortunately, in that the Properties option is not available when you do.  What I do is make the change to the light in my catalogue (or add a new one with the change), then use the 'Select all Similar" (or Shift/Select just the lights I want to change) and when they are all selected, right click and choose Replace. Replace with the modified light from the catalogue of course.

As Doug said 'Select All Similar' and 'Properties' works well for walls and many other objects but not for lights - don't know why.

Acutual both Doug and Allan are right about adjusting lights all at once but one extra step will get you results.

As Doug said 'Select Similar' brings up right click 'Properties' option for most items , and as Allan said those Properties are not available for lights.

BUT

If you simple right click and select 'Replace' , instead of actually choosing a newly added light (which you can do) or first changing the existing light (which you can do), just select the actual light you currently have placed in your model from the catalog, select edit , adjust the light and say OK.

This just eliminates the need to create new or adjust before selecting similar. Saves one step.

The other thing about using Edit of existing while in Replace mode is that you are then adjusting that light properly in the catalog for all future similar uses. Unfortunely lighting is a very complex operation and one ceiling light set to work great in an 8' high small room , may not be as useful in a 10' high room.
