Just load my copy of Home & Interior.  Bought the software thinking I could use it to remodel my existing bathroom.

I can't seem to get on the right track.

Am I missing something or did I just get hosed and buy the wrong software?

Hi Danny,

Welcome to TurboFLOORPLAN and the Forum.

I have not used the Interiors version but a far as I know it is pretty much the same as the Pro version without the exterior finess and landscape. The Pro version would certainly do what you want but I think the Interiors will too.

You did not indicate exactly what your problems were so I will assume you did not low where to start.  Try the following:

File / New will give you a blank page to draw the plan of your bathroom.
Use the toolbars, or go to the Insert menu and click Walls. A panel with all manner of walls should appear. Choose one.
Click towards the upper left area of the screen, move the mouse to the right a little way (watch the dimensions if you want as you do). Click and move the mouse down the screen, Click and move to the left, Click and move up the screen to join where you started. You now have a room to serve as your bathroom. Click any wall and drag them to the size you want.
Now go to Insert / Doors. Select a door and click it into the wall.
Then you can Insert Windows, a ceiling, cabinets, lights etc

As you are doing that on the plan the program is doing it in 3D so at any time you can go to View / 3D Perspective. Now you have a camera that you can use to walk around your model. Look for the Zoom and Navigate toolbar for the camera controls.

Try out all the toolbars to see what everything does and go through the User Guide in th Help Menu. Also go to Settings / Program Settings and look through all the default settings so you can see the things that can be changed IF you need to.  When you get stuck just ask. It is probably best to ask these sort of questions in the Looking For Help section.

Could this be the infamous hardware acceleration causing problems drawing walls? 

If so, turn it off - search the forum for Hardware Acceleration.......

Thanks Allan, I'll give that a shot.  I guess I was hoping for a remodeling template or wizard but it sounds like I'll need to start from scratch.

Hi Danny,

In Tools on the top are the Design Wizards but they may not help for a remodeling.

If you have an existing 2D plan as a jpg / bmp / or tga file you can import it/ scale it and use that to trace over.

Other than that, you must select walls / doors / windows etc and insert them to create your model. Don't worry about getting the dimensions right when starting, just draw out the basic shape, Then click on wall / it's related dimension and change the dimension to get an accurate plan.
