Need help raising house elevation

Hi All,

I'm new to this and we're about to to a major rebuild on our house.  I need to raise the overall elevation of the house I've created and lower the elevation of the Garage.  How can I do that, I can't figure it out.

I presume by elevations you mean floor level relative to the Terrain?

This is controlled basically by the Settings/ Building Locations. You can raise the whole of the Ground Floor by changing the Floor Level setting. This figure defaults to a foot or 300 mm above the Terrain. It refers to the surface of the floor and since everything, including walls, are built on the floor, they will all rise if you increase this figure.

If your garage is also on the Ground Floor Location it will also rise too. What you need to do is to put it on a Location of its own.  So, create a new Location, or adjust the Foundation so that it has a Floor Level that is where you want it relative to the house, then select the whole of the Garage (in Plan view drag the mouse over the whole garage) and then right click and select Duplicate to Locations. Choose your new Garage Location of course and it will be replicated at this new level. Then go back to the ground floor  and delete to original garage or you will have two!

You may then have a problem with the Terrain if your Garage is below ground level. The whole Terrain can be lowered in the Settings/ Programme Settings/ Terrain. You can also set which Location it cuts around (so your garage is not full of grass!) and using the Terrain toolbar you can slope or otherwise change the shape of the terrain.

Make a copy of the whole project first just in case!
