I've used this software for years without many problems.

Today after not using it for months I tried to create a new drawing and the programs keeps crashing.

I can open the program without any problems but when I start a new drawing or open an old one then try to move around it, the design screen turns gray, a clock appears, at the top of the screen I get a message saying not responding.

I also see a box which looks like a video player slider which I have never noticed before.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software which makes no difference.

I running Vista 32bit.

Right now the software is unusable.

this is the box i see

Hi David,

Welcome to the forum.

Seems strange that the program no longer works properly, unless you have changed something on your PC in the meantime. Sometimes new softawre installed can change things and affect previous installations, although you did say you had re-instaled it, so that should have overcome that issue.  When you did the re-install did you apply the patch? I think the version number you have quoted is the updated version, as long as that version number if after the re-install.

It sounds like a graphics display issue, so a previous video driver update may have caused the issue or may be needed to fix the issue.  However the first thing I would do is to try it with Hardware Acceleration turned off.  (Settings/ Program Settings/ Graphics).  This may slow down moving around but may overcome the problem.

There have been some Vista issues reported too so you may like to Search the forum to see if there is anthing to help in those replies.

I have not see the 'box' image before - maybe it will mean something to others.  Whereabouts did it appear?

Hi Jeff,

I dont know what is the latest on V12. V14 latest ends with 637 as you have quoted but I have the original V12 on my desktop and an Australian version on my laptop and these have very different numbers.

Are you sure your 637 is V12 and not V14?

My mistake, for some reason I didn't see V12, I thought it was V14, and just saw the .01.C2.
