Can not drag stairs inside building

The title says it all, the drag stops at the outside of the ground floor clicking inside deposits the stairs on the outside of the building.

Can anybody tell me what the fundamental error is?

Sorry it should read "Turned the Collision Tool off and this did allow me to place stairs inside the building, so problem solved I think"

Hi Peter,

This does not make any sense. I have just tried it with a new blank project (4 walls/floor/roof) and was able to simply click and add a dozen stairs from each of the types, in one room - everyone I tried worked prefectly straight away.
Is it happening with all stairs?
Does it happen on totally new project?

If collision is off I can't think of anything else that would be stopping it.
