I am a newbie. I want to do a floorplan of my house. I have the dimensions for the exterior and the interior rooms. After I enter the exterior, how do I get the rooms in the plan.  thanx ???

Hi,  Welcome to the Forum.

Interior walls are added in the same way as the exterior.  Just click on the exterior wall, about where your room starts and drag, clicking on each corner as you did for the exterior. Watch the measurements as you go, to get it roughly right, but you can drag them into place exactly later.

Next just select doors and windows and click them into place (drag them into position later too) and then a select a ceiling ('by Perimeter' will do the whole house all at once or 'By Room' will just put a ceiling in that room - just click in the room).  The roof is added the same way, select a roof (by perimeter) and click anywhere inside the building and it is done.  The floor defaults to automatic, so it should be there anyway. You can turn automatic floors off if you want.

If you want you can then select furniture etc and just drop that into place too to see how it fits and select objects, walls etc, right click and select Properties and change Sizes or Appearance using the thousands of textures in the catalog..

Switch from Plan view to 3D and you can then walk through your house.

It is really that simple and only takes about the time it takes to read this, once you get used to the tools of course.  No doubt you will have other questions as you go on, so just ask.
