In earlier versions of FP if you selected an object, then right-clicked, there was one choice on the list of commands: "set to current insertion"  (or very similar).

This is a very handy ability and should be added to the right-click list in TFP.

For example if you want to add another wall (or any other object such as a kitchen cabinet) or to simply find the object in the large database of objects and materials)...

all you had to do is click on the desired object, right-click and do "set to current" and automatically the catalog window showed the item...which you could then inspect/change and/or insert again....which could be days later if needed.

BTW, there are some new features in TFP that are really new and appreciated and would not want to lose....not listed here as I think we don't tend to lose features over time with new releases....but if you wanted, I'll bet many would respond to a poll of "features" that are very helpful and easy to use etc.  Such as the apply materials paintbrush which is much better than the FP way of modifying every object individually (or sometimes as a group if they were all the same object types).

EDIT:
I discovered we do have the equivalent capability...different name....select object, right-click, select "replace" and it takes you to the catalog for the object.
