I have been using v16 for ages now but when I try and simply plant a tree I get this message  - Table surf id 20006 duplicate
it also suggests that the file garden.db may be locked or corrupted, or that another instance of a cadsoft program is running
I have checked my pc over and over again and found no other programs running
please can somebody help me

thanx

Hi and welcome to the forum,

If another Cadsoft program has been started and you try to start it again before the first one opens, you will get a message that one is already running (even if it has not actually opened on the screen yet) so I don't think another copy of the program is running.

If you have been using the plants in the past and it worked OK, then I suspect that the Garden.db is corrupt. If you have had a previous version of TFP on your computer you would have another copy of the Garden.db. Try using the Windows Explorer Search to see if there is one, copy it and replace the one that may be corrupt (rename the old one first). Hopefully just replacing the file may solve the problem. If not you may have to reinstall the program. Be sure to take a copy of your files, the Catalogue (if you have customised things) and the Textures folder (if you have added your own textures) so you can replace them after the reinstall.

I had a problem with the Garden.db once but it turned out to be a problem with the old Vista operating system on the computer - it was loosing track of where files were. Upgraded to Windows 7 and it solved the problem. I presume you are not having computer issues or have been renaming or moving folders?
