I just followed the guidance provided above....make end roof as gable.
Select side roof, break, make it gable, adjust where split is to get roof to blend peaks as needed.

Actually tho.....I started with your .bld file....you had done some of the work already (break was done)....so I selected the roof on end and made it a gable....

then selected roof with gable (the one now between two other gables) and made it back to hip....then adjusted the "break" point location to get roof peaks correct (zoomed-in close for making very small adjustments by dragging the break point).

I'm guessing you accidently selected the wrong part of the roof (green up arrow) to make gable from hip, and ended up with two gables along same side of the house....when you needed to select the hip roof section 90 degrees around the corner and change it (north wall/roof) to gable.

I had the same issue with the modified gable roof and found a "quick cheat" for it.  I stepped the outside wall 1/16" (invisible to the eye) at the same vertical location as the wall adjacent to the step - you basically make two rooms (one offset 1/16" from the edge) and delete the inner wall.  When you apply the the roof it comes in perfect automatically without the need for tweaking the roof lines.  See picture for an explanation on how this is done.  All I did to the roof was changing it to be gable.  This is probably not the best way to do it, but I think it was the quickest way to ensure that the roof always came in correct (especially if you are changing the roof and walls as you build up the house).

this is precisely what I have been struggling to achieve with my roofs for months.  Can you please explain this cheat another way.  I cannot seem to understand what you are doing to get bothe the main roof and the roof that turns 90 degrees to have gables on all ends.
Every time I try to select the arrows and change the  gable ends I get really funky roofs.

What am I doing wrong here.  I am trying to achieve gables on three ends.  Let's call them east, south and west ends.  I can get gables on east and south but you can see that the west end is completely skewed.  Please try to explainto me breaks and drags and try to be very specific when you mention edges, start points etc.  This is just not sinking into my thick skull
