Newbie question of co-ordinate system

Silly me - Of course it would be difficult to get a window through a double skinned wall.

Never mind, it'll be a rare thing that I would need to CAD the wall's internal structure. In practise, building a cavity to a plan showing a solid is not going to be a major challenge, the external measurements of both faces will be correct and that's what I'll be working to... For domestic projects, I don't even think the Building Control or Planning departments down the local council are that fussed - it's what's stated on the plan in English ("cavity wall, blah gap, blah insulation filling...") and what the council bloke sees on the day that matters.

And various English regulations prevent running gas or electric cabling[1] down the cavities, so detailing it is a bit pointless in practise.

Bit of an omission, but not a disaster. I did notice that the top end Arcon product does state cavity wall detail as a feature, but not on their lower products.

[1] gas because it accumulates and blows up, electric because polystyrene is sometimes used as an insulating filling and it attacks PVC over time...

Hi,

Just wanted to say thanks for eveyone's help.

Spent 15 hours straight this weekend and acheived the attached:

It's mm perfect (as much as my survey data anyway!!!) and some f the textures are even genuine from photos.

Excellent - so now I can get on and use it to plan stuff

The observant will notice that the bay windows have no roofs - should be little lead flat jobbies - haven't got round to that yet.

And the upstairs was a b**tard as the roof is lower than the downstairs ceiling, so there was some creativity there.

Thank again folks - I feel pretty fast now - but still got to learn some tricks.
