How do I insert a tile back splash?

How can I insert a tiled back splash just above the entire counter-top?

2 part answer....

1. search this forum for key words as same question asked/answered quite a while back...may have been for a tiled shower wall

2. essentially you can either use a wainscot wall (2 part wall) or make a thin rectangular shape (like a picture with no frame, thickness same as desired tile; approx 1/4") setup to desired size with desired applied material/texture, set very close to the existing wall.

There may be other ways too but I have used above with excellent results long ago.

As Doug said there are a number of ways to do this. However I think his suggestion of using a Picture Frame or similar 'box' is easiest. I usually use the square 'Mirror 5' (under Interior Accessories/Decorative). On the Appearance tab just select Mirror and change it to your tile texture. The Frame is just the edge of the mirror so you can just set this to the Tile texure also or set it to the Group colour.

The mirror automatically installs on the wall at window top height, so on the Behaviour tab of the mirror just change the setting to the height of your tiles (and it will move it down the wall accordingly and on the Basic tab set the Height the same, the Depth to the thickness of your tile and width to whatever you want.
