I downloaded v13 a week ago to try it out.  Everything is working for me.  I have ordered the new version 16 on disk, but it is currently on back order.  I have a question about roofs.  It may have been dealt with between 13 and 16.  I have a house plan along with a detatched garage on my screen together.  I had created my roof on the house and when I went to build it on the garage it would not allow me unless I delete the house roof.  Has there been an update to this or do I need to do something different to have both roofs on both buildings at the same time?
Thank you

Hi Rollin!

You have to use picking points for roof not roof by perimeter number 2, or you can add a copy of ground floor Location and call it garage.
You can not have make 2 roof with roof by perimeter on same location.

You can download trial-version of V16 is same as full-version and you can use it for 15 days

Hope this will help you.

I am just wondering what version you actually have as there was not a V13. V12 went to V14 (presumably someone was supersticious) so you must have 12, 14 or 15. The answer from Robert would work but I don't think Roof By Picking Points was avaialble in V12 or V14 from memory, so whether it works will depend on what version you actually have.  If it doesn't work you will have to put the garage roof on another Location.  In this case either build the whole garage on the second Location and insert the roof there, or, just trace the existing garage walls on another Location but use a wall that is only a mm or fraction of an inch high so it will not be seen in 3D and insert the roof, so just the roof would be on the second Location.

As Robert said though, why not just download the program and begin using V16 from the start - it will still open what you have already done. The trial version is the full version - nothing is restricted except that it only works for 14 days. If the CD will be longer than that you should be able to get an Activation code.

Not sure regarding V12 but I just checked V14--> it has the "Roof By Picking Points" feature

Hi Pat,

It certainly was not in V12 so it must have been introduced in V14. I wonder is somehow there was a test version called 13 somewhere?
