    Hi everybody ! :

Question :    How do I match the height of the roof to the wall height ?
Example :    I want to design a structure with a small area (around 40'x40'), and with a wall height of  15 feet.   How do I  "elevate the roof to the correct height ?

Hi Garystan,

The roof will always sit automatically at the Wall Height set in Building Locations for that floor, not the height you have individually set the walls to. Walls Heights and hence roof position are controlled by the Building Location as are all vertical heights, so if the Wall Height setting for that floor is 15' then that is where the roof will sit, regardness of the walls you have inserted.  I suspect however that you have not set the wall height in Building Locations but just adjusted them individually to 15 ft, so your Building Location height is probably the default (usually 8') and so that is where your roof will be.

What you need to do now is delete the roof, change the Wall Height setting to 15' in the Building Locations for the floor level where your roof is going to be and then insert the roof again.  You may also want to select all the walls (or at least the exterior ones) and where you have set them to Level and entered 15', change it back to Auto Extend. The walls will then automatically extend to 15' and if there is a gable at any point then the wall will extend further, into the gable so it meets the roof.

Hope you can follow the concept of how that works.
