Unasked for border.

When I start a drawing, a border comes around it. Anything I enter outside the border doesn't print. If I block the drawing area with part of the bordeer in it, it prints that part of the border.
I'm using a trial version. How do I delete the border?

Hi Papadoc, welcome to the Forum!

Do you mean a square measuring 160' x 160' ?  It is not a border. It is a basic terrain.
You can edit the dimensions (use Programs settings --> terrain) or simply turn off the terrain using the Filter (use View --> View filters --> Elements on Terrain tab --> "close" the eye or you can use the filter icon in the Toolbar)

How do I delete the border?

As Pat has explained, this 'border' on the plan is the extent of the Terrain (the ground on which your house is built). If it is in the way on the plan, then, as Pat pointed out, you can turn if off.  Bear in mind however that TurboFloorPlan is all about creating a 3D model of the building ,so you can walk around and through it.  The Terrain can also be shaped, so that you have realistic slopes, hills and valleys. If you turn the Terrain off, then you will find in 3D view, that your house is floating in the sky.

Generally it is better to make it bigger, if necessary, than turn it off.

Thanks so much for your help. I unchecked "Auto-cut terrain around building" and it disappeared. I'll put it back later when I start making 3D images. Now, if I had a contour program to make the contours, I'd be in like Flynn. I know how to do contours manually, but I don't know if this program will let me draw a line free hand. I could draw the contours on a printed plan and then scan it, but I wouldn't be able to change anything. I'll work out something.

You can do contours manually using the Plateau tool. You can set the slope required and draw any shape you want. Bear in mind that each plateau add to the previous so imagine you are building the shape in short slices starting from the bottom. The shorter you set the height for each plateau you draw the more gradual the slope will be between the 'slices'.

You have to have the Terrain turned on to do this of course, as it is the Terrain that it shapes to match your contours.
