Bleed-through on floor plans

Have been playing with TFP H&L Version 12 for a while, and finally came up with a plan I wanted to keep. Found a print shop that can print off my laptop in A1. Had them do the prints in black & white, and found that the bleed-through effect noticeable in the colur version on my sceen is even worse in b & w, to the point where my three floor plans; basement, ground and first floor (Second floor in American) are virtually indistinguishable from one another.

I realise that some degree of bleed-through is necessary in the planning stages so that stairs, walls and other features may be co-ordinated between floors, but is there a way to eliminate bleed through when printing/having printed?

Hi John (I presume),

Welcome to the forum. 

What you need to do is open the View Filter (eye icon) and turn off all the floors (Building Locations) except the one you want to print. Obviously repeat the process for the other floors if you want to print them.

The other setting you can try is the "Dimming Percentage" under [Workspace] in the [Programme Settings].

Yes, setting the Dimming Percentage to maximum will work too, depending on the format you are using to send the plan to the printers. If you are sending it by PDF, it should be OK, as long as you do not use Solid Fill for the walls (the Solid Fill does not dim). JPG/BMP will work also of course but you would not likely use these.  However if you export them as DXF or DWG it won't work, as these are fully scalable vector 'images' and any line will show in 'full strength' if it turned on in the View Filter.
