Getting a pitched gable roof to sit correctly on top of an interior wall

Hi all.
I am having difficulties trying to get a pitched gabled roof to sit at the right height on one side of my house project.

On one side of the house where the roof is at 8 feet, the flat roof works OK.

However, on the other side of the house, I'm having a battle with the pitched  gable roof.
This roof "sits" OK on the 10f6 perimeter walls, however per the below image, the trouble comes where the gable meets the flat roof.
I cannot get the gabled roof at the "seam" to sit on top of the 10f6 wall where the 2 roofs meet.
For some reason it wants to sit down at the 8 foot level which is below the flat roof side of the house.

Any help or guidance much appreciated.

Hi Liam,

Welcome to the forum.

The roof does not sit on the walls as such but sits at the height where you say the top of the wall is (in Settings/Building Locations). If the walls are set there to 8' then the whole of the underside edhe of the roof wil sit at that height, regardless of what height you make the walls. Normally they are set to AutoExtend so they stop at the roof anyway.

It the walls on one side of the house are lower than the other, then they should really be on two separatre Building Locations with different wall heights. You can also stretch the edge of a roof and choose (right click) 'adjust support height' and it will extend going to ever lower levels, chopping the AutoExtending walls as it goes. From what I can tell from your image though, it looks as though the 'flat roof' part needs to be on another Building Location with lower walls (the height of the wall where the lowest edge of the roof is). Alternatively, the rest of the house should be on a Location with higher walls. With a higher wall height setting in Building Locations, the whole roof will insert higher and should then connect with the Flat Roof section (if it is moved to another Building Location).

If you already have these on separate locations, then just move the edge of the roof away from the flat roof section (to the point where the wall on lower right of you plan sticks out from the rest of the bulding), with the roof edge still selected, right click and choose Move Edge - Adjust Support Height and then drag it to meet the flat roof. That will cause that edge to move lower as you move the edge. You may have to also set the Overhang to a minimum on that edge also.

Thanks so much. That worked.
I defined a new location for that side of the house and re-assigned the walls and roof.
It was then easy to get the 2 roof zones to work.
