How do you get to the right-click, Step-Back command?

I keep reading in the help that, I can undo the previous wall by right-clicking and then selecting Step-Back.  The only two options I get when following these instructions are Finish and Repeat.  What am I missing?

I am on TFP v16 pro.

Hi Elie,

The only reference I could see to Step Back, in drawing walls, is if you are doing "Wall By Baseline" (where you in effect draw a line for the walls and the lines are then converted to walls).  If you are just drawing the walls straight onto the screen, this option is not available.

However you can use the Undo command at any time for anything you change your mind about and can keep undoing all the previous steps right back to the last save.  Undo (and Redo - if you change your mind again  ) is on the Edit menu, or you can simply do, as you would in any computer software, use the keyboard control Ctrl + Z (or Alt E - and Alt R to Redo). Very useful controls!!

One warning though. Undo and Redo work back to the last Save. If you have AutoSave on, then you could do something, change your mind, and before you do the undo the AutoSave cuts in. Now you cannot undo.  Some set a timer to remind them to save regularly and turn the AutoSave off, so it does not short circuit the undo. AutoSave is the most reliable but it can interfere with the undo/redo.

Hello Allan,

Today, I discovered (the hard way) the cons of autosave and disabled it.  Other than that it is a nice feature.  It is nice to know that it can be set as a reminder.

Sorry it is not that simple - it CANNOT be set as a reminder - you have to do that on your watch, timer or whatever.

That is why I personally prefer AutoSave. You only have to forget the saves, face a computer crash and you are back to square one - all lost. 

You have to be very disciplined to save if you turn AutoSave off.  Autosave creases backups too!

Hi Elie,

They are saved in the same place as the normal file but have a BKP file extension. If you need to use one you open TFP and from File / Open select the BKP file.
