Some of my walls don't display trim changes

For reasons I cannot figure out some of my walls do not 'listen' to me when I want to make trim changes.
At least, they accept my choices, but don't show them in 2Ddesign and 3D.
Most walls respond normally, but some not: adding a trim is not shown, a deleted trim still remains visible and a changed trim does not show any effect.
Don't know why some walls have this strange behavior and others not.

Hi Wim,

Trim will show if you tick the box that says to Show Trim on the window or door Properties.

Bear in mind too that there are 3 sides to a wall, Exterior, Interior Left and Interior Right. Maybe you have only changed the Left side of the wall and are looking at the Right side which hasn't changed. A wall surface is left or right in depending on the direction you drew it. The green marker shows where you started and the red marker where you finished. Imagine your back to the green marker and that tells you which is left or right side of the wall. Normally you would change the trim on both sides but you have to do both separately and it easy to forget one.

I dont see a box that I should tick that gives me the option to show trims. And what you mean with window or door properties, whereas I was talking about wall trims. Never clicked such box - and most of my trims appear properly.
I am aware of the risk that I just changed 'the wrong side' of a wall: I made that mistake a few times, but it is clear now that I should check all sides, in case of an issue. I also know about the color coded left and right.
All sides of these mystery walls have been properly trimmed, I can't see where I can put the display on or of...
So?

It seems I found what went wrong, but I still don't understand it.
I had ordered the left interior side to get certain trims - and in most cases this went normal, just in a few not - while I had the feeling they DID appear before.
Now they showed up ONLY after I changed the EXTERIOR trim - I had not worked with it before, did not seems necessary.
What IS the exterior side exactly? The exterior of what, referring to what?

Hi Wim,

The Exterior is the outside surface of a building IF all the walls actually join to make an enclosed space.  If there is a break anywhere in the wall it is all regarded as an interior free standing wall.  If you use a veneer wall you will notice that the veneer is only added when you actually join the wall to create an enclosed space - until then the veneer is not there and the walls are a left and Right interior wal

The two tick boxes on the walls basic tab will 'force' a wall surface to be exterior.
