Installing TFP v14 in windows7

Have TFP ver14 that worked on a Vista machine that died, so bought a new 64bit machine windows7. TFP installs but does not run....help.
Try right clicking the desktop icon, then choose run as administrator from the local menu that pops up. Nothing after Windows gives a message from the User Account Control asking if i want this program to make changes to my computer...yes or no, nothing happens.
I did that from the administrator account and no go.... BTW, It is a new Windows 7 64bit pro-version....I also tried to run the compatibility app which ask the used in which previous version did the program work... It was a Vista Ultimate 64bit version... thanx again, RK
Security: I am running a clean machine according to Microsoft Security Essentials and i check windows error reporting. The compatibility settings did not work on my machine. thanx and i will try the forums then v16....

Sometimes, the flat compatibility mode won't work. However, there are other resources.
First, get the user manual and look for the minimum requirements for V14 and compare with your current system. For example. check the required screen resolution then run in compatibility mode and change the screen resolution.
There are many resources and combinations, so hopefully, one of them will be the rigth one.

Anyway, as it is a new computer. don't forget to update the drivers as well as the TFP patches

Problem solved.... Posted my problem on the forum a couple of days ago and now it is solved....Two things helped. One was the people in this forum, thanx. and 2,  that i am familiar with the operating system(s) and followed the instructions.... but i know a lot of people who know little.... and mad at windows for giving us a hard time to simply run a program when there was no issue installing... It was the DEP(Data execution prevention) that prevented me from running the program.nice. Thanx for the prompt response and great leads. robk

I had the same problem and asked basically the same question... I turned off the Graphics Accelerator and all appears to be fine
