it won't trim my circles

working in 2D plan view when i draw circles and lines using the layout function, which i am hoping to convert to walls and trims, when i right click and press trim it gives me a little square but then it doesn't matter where i click the square it doesn't trim anything? pls help

The trim only works if you have another line to trim up to.

For an exercise, to see how it works, do the following.
1. Draw a circle
2. Draw a line across it sticking out each side
3. Select the line
4. Right click select Trim
5. Click one side of the circle (it will disappear)

Now do the revese:
1. Undo what you did (Control Z or Edit/Undo)
1. Select the Circle this time
2. Right click select Trim
3. Click the line ends that are ouside of the circle and they will be trimmed off.
