How can I rotate the entire plan 90 degrees

Allan Chesney

To rotate the whole plan select everything by clicking at the upper left for example and drag the mouse to the lower right.
Right click and select Rotate. Click and 'rotate' the mouse in the centre of where you want it to be. If necessary use the right click again and select Move to reposition everything if it is not centred.

To rotate exactly 90 degrees make sure you have Ortho on (lower right status bar).

If you have multiple locations and want to rotate all locations at once (or if it will not move) you will have to go first to Setting/ Program Settings / Building Aids and untick the box: "Select elements on current location only in plan view". This allows you to select all locations at once. Tick the box again after you have done the rotate.  If it will still not rotate make sure that Collision (lower right) is turned off.

Rotating like this will rotate everything, including text. If the reason for this question is because of the print problem you are having then see that post first before you rotate.

Thanks for your help Allan the printing still will not work unless
I rotate to portrait the it prints perfect so I can live with that

Also unless I did something wrong I cant rotate entire plan if
it has diminsions please verify this

Thanks

Allan Chesney

Sorry, I had not realised this previously but you appear to be right - if dimensions are displayed, the plan cannot be rotated.  If you turn them off in the View Filter the rotate becomes available again, but obviously the dimensions are useless when you turn them on again. If you are only useing the Auto Exterior Dimensions it is OK as they can be easily regenerated.

still looking for help thought rotation was the solution but the the diminsions
are facing the wrong way

There has to be a way to make this program print proper I just cant figure out
I have tried multiple pdf writers have tried on xp, vista, and 7

I have been drawing for 34 years 13 of those with cad and have never encountered
a problem I couldnt fix

I have been using softplan for 10 years but want to get away from it because of the additional
seat cost being so expensive

Try 'mirror'.  Not sure if you can get to your 90 deg rotation but it seems dims mirror OK.
