If you don't have the point option in Pro Architect, then there is a possible bug. I will check on that feature.

I checked and Pro Architect doesn't have TIN terrain optons. The only way you should get the non sizeable terrain dialog , is if the original file was done in a full version of Envisioneer.

If it was done fully in Pro Architect, then I'd say there is a bug somewhere.
Can you reproduce the situation in a new file ?

If you can , post the details and I will let Cadsoft know.

Hi Garry,

While you are checking maybe try the other Template also - it may be OK. An earlier version of TFP was initially released with an Envisioneer template in it and it had all sorts of interesting effects!! It unlocked many other features.  This may be a similar thing - unocked the TIN Terrain dialog when it shouldn't have.  Of course, both metric and Imperial templates could have the problem too.

Did you try using the Slope tool for example to extend off the terrain?
It would not normally have the effect of extending the terrain but if there is some TIN functionality there it may we worth a try - you never know, it may work.

If not and all else fails (and you don't want to start again!) you could just use a Floor or Pad for the Terrain. I did that once for a movie where I wanted a circular terrain, as the camera was moving around the house and I didn't want the horizon going in and out at the corners of the Terrain. Here is where the movies ended up - all the animations were done in TFP: www.synergy.net.au/renovator. You will notice when you rotate the house that the 'horizon' remains a gentle curve.

I've attached a file of a very simple house shell (for use as a background model in an animation).  I made it from scratch and as you can see the terrain is set at this odd size...very frustrating!  See what you can do with it.

I tried to open the .bld file with TFP v16 and it would not open and crashed/closed TFP....file was generated with a version newer than TFP v16 ...I assume you used ProArchitect and TFP is not compatible...no surprise.

Hi Garry,

I have opened, extended the terrain and saved it again as a 7.2 version which ProArchitect should open. As Doug said, TFP V16 will not open it as Pro Architect is later than TFP V16 but V17, when released, should open it.

When I open it in Env 8.1 the Terrain dialog is as you get it - no sizing options only TIN smoothing but I still have the Spot Point and opter Terrain options, so I was able to extend the Terrain that way.  As mentioned earlier you could just simply use a floor as the Terrain and even use Surfaces to make basic slopes etc.

It looks like a bug in ProArchitect that you are getting the wrong Terrain dialog - obviously the recent update did not fix it.

Can you please post the default Template that was used for this, just so I can see what happens with it when it is used in Envisioneer? (it is in the Templates folder and you can identify which one was used in Settings / Program Settings/ General).

Yes I did see the amination - very nice - gives a good idea of the building process. I was trying to find the one I did earlier but it is on an old computer I suspect. Mine was solid brick so did not use the framing. Will post it when I find it.

I found a solution to the problem...I copied the metric template from the TurboFloorPlan folder into the ProArchitect folder and inside the PA settings I made that template the default...I amnow able to resize my terrains

Hi Garry,

The ProAchitect Template opens in Envisioneer without the ability to change the size of the Terrain, so that is obviously the issue. Using the Env templates it opens with a sizeable terrain, until you start to use the new terrain tools, then it reverts to the TIN terrain which you can resize with the Spot Point tool.

The TFP template shoould work OK but are you sure it has not disabled some other ProArchitect tools? Are the 2D worksheet tools still available for example?

Your suspicions were correct Allan, while I was able to resize the TFP terrrain within PA, I no longer have any of the PA's working drawings tools

Hi Garry,

I have attached two Envisioneer templates for you to try. I am not sure where Pro Architect will fit as far as compatibility goes, but the first one one is a V7 template and the other V8.  If it won't open V8 then use the V7 - it should work but can't be sure - it may unlock other things too or may be even be unstable  , but one of them may get you around the problem.

I have no idea why they are so much smaller than yours!

Anyway it will be interesting to see how they go.

Okay, both of those templates allow me to adjust the terrain sizes from within PA, and also give me back 4 basic drawing pages.    While it's not the 20 pages I had originally, most of those I didn't use anyway, so I can live with it.  Thanks for the documents Allan.

You should still be able to add the extra sheets. Envisioneer only defaults to 4.
