HELP ADDING TO A SLAB OR PAD

can some one please tell me how you can add more nodes (little handles) to a existing slab or pad so I can change it shape

Hi Les,

I am not at my computer to be able to double check but I am sure this is not possible. You will have to replace it or add another one on the side to make the total shape you want.

Select the slab->right-click->cut opening. Now just cut an opening that crosses the edge of the slab. That will take a chunk out of the edge but it will provide several new nodes with how many depending on the shape of the opening. Then you can grab any of those nodes and drag them wherever you want.

If you don't need to 'hug terrain' you can use a Surface which allows adding nodes.

I had done that once years ago and fogotten completely about it.

Please correct me if I have misunderstood, but it appears that the recommended process requires working with manually installed floors? ... but furthermore it appears that none of this special effort is necessessary since an extension of walls seems to result in a foundation/slab modification, ie: slab extension.

With TFP v16, as the building extenson was built followed by a filter to no show the walls it can be seen that the slab automatically extended to reflect the new wall lines.

Hi HB,

You are correct, floor auto adjust to room size / shape changes. But floors can also be used for walks/ patios, even countertops. So in those cases you may have the need for extra nodes and Gerald's suggestion to 'cut and opening' add those extra nodes so you do not have to start all over.
