Gable Vents

While browsing a catalog someplace (I think it was TFP but I'm not sure) I saw the round or octagon vents that are commonly used in gables to vent the attic.  I can't find them again.  Can anybody suggest where I might look?

Hi Tom,

I think it may have been while browsing the forum that you saw this post- http://forums.turbofloorplan.com/index.php/topic,1127.msg5463.html#msg5463 . I cant think of any vents in the program itself.

If you just want a simple rectangular or round one, then just use a mirror and change the glass to a Siding texture which will give you the horizontal bars. If you want something fancy the it can be created using the techniques in the post above.

I seem to recall a couple somewhere...maybe in custom windows???  I would have to look around.

Did you try 'search' in the TFP catalog?

I tried searching for every description I could think of but found nothing.  Then after Allen suggested the round window with 'siding glass' I went that way.  I would have liked siding with a 2" reveal but could not find any nor figure out how to change anything so I went with what was there.  The building has two size vents: one about 2' diameter and the window and siding looked fine, the other is about 10-12" diam but when I shank down the window it looked bad.  I skipped putting it on the building and went on as deadlines dictated haste.

You can also go outside of TFP such as SketchUp  .skp object or just find a .3ds or .obj model and import it, then move into position  (collision off)

Just use a Custom Octagon or Round Window.

Change the 'Type' to Louvered
Change the 'Glass' material (Appearance tab) to a color to see the louvers.
