 Hi Allan,
I have just purchased the software and I am from Perth. I have read the forums regarding producing wall styles
as I would like to produce the typical 230 brick cavity wall eg 90 brick, 50 cavity, 90 brick. I have downloaded the custom ones you have posted but I have not had any success with modifying the 270 double brick, or 260 double brick to reflect my needs. The core is easily modified, however how do I modify the brick width to reflect 90?

Hi Shayne,

Welcome to the forum.

Unfortunately you cannot change anything but the core  setting. I have posted a few different BIM files of different wall configurations previously and thought there was one with 90mm brick. Try the forum search for BIM to find them. If you can't find what you want I can create it for you but it will be a few days as my computer is out of commission at the moment. You can continue in the meantime using a wall that is similar, as they can be replaced with the correct one later.

What suburb are you in? I am at Kalamunda.

Hi Allan,
Thanks for that. I am happy to learn how to create the walls if you can give a brief run down. I am very conversant with AutoCad and Microstation for my day job. I am in Melville.

Hi Shayne,

Unfortunately it can only be done using Envisioneer (the much more expensive parent program). Once created and transferred to TFP as a BIM (Building Information Management) file, it will operate the same as all the other walls in TFP. You will however still be only able to change the Core width (this is the interior frame wall of a brick veneer wall).

If you let me know the dimensions you want (eg 90 brick, 50 cavity, 90 interior frame) I will make it for you - only takes a minute or so.

Hi Allan,
I read some of your previous posts about creating walls and downloaded a trial
version of Envisioneer v9 CS. It was rather easy to create the walls as necessary. However
I now compatibility issues when importing the BIM file. TurboFloorPlan brings up an error
message that the BIM file created is a newer version than TurboFLoorPlan. It would seem
Envisioneer V9 BIM export is a later version than the TurboFlooPlan BIM Import.
I have attached the BIM file with the wall styles I need to create. It would be greatly appreciated
if you could please create these for me Allan.

Hi Shayne,

V9 was only released a few days ago, so TFP 16 is certainly not compatible. I am surprised you were able to export a BIM as all exporting or printing is usually disabled in the trial versions of Envisioneer. I managed to get my computer going but then my wife had to go into Murdoch hospital, so I am staying there with her. I will have to use my phone wifi hotspot to connect but that should be OK. Hopefully I should be able to do it this evening and attach the BIM file to this post then.

Hi Allan,
I don't expect you to do it tonight. Take care
of your wife and hopefully she returns to good health quickly.

Hi Shayne,

Nothing on TV so I made up the BIM for you. There are two, 90mm and 110mm veneer with 50mm cavity. I did them generically this way as you can change the setdown and frame (Core) and save them with different combinations and give them your own names. After import just right click select and choose Edit element or Add Element to create new ones with the same veneer and cavity combination.

Thanks for that Allan,
I appreciate it. Works a treat.
