Hello, I use floorplan 3D v16.

I can create an animation of the effect of the Sun from sunrise to the sunset? How do it?

An 'other question, in the properties of the rendering even if I select a different country from kabul the program not modify it.
Where is the problem?

It's possible upgrade library?

I know of no way to automate sun rise to set animation, maybe Allan does. But you can take many individual renders at incremental sun times  then assemble all rendered images in one folder and use an animation/video program to combine them into a movie/slide show.

There was a bug in city/country selection so you need to work around it by selecting other nearby location that works...either search this forum or maybe Allan remembers if it has been solved in an update.

You can add to library/catalog....import via menu/wizard and save directly to catalog or paste in drawing and then select and save to catalog.  See help file.

I do not know of any way to do an animation showing sun movement either. If you are using Advanced render, the program creases a radiosity view of of the entire model at once, then the animation simply follows the chosen path doing the raytraced images,  so all images are then showing the sun as it was when the radiosity render was done. As Doug suggested, the only way would be to position the camera, render, change the time and render again and repeat the process and then asemble the images.

Timezone issue:
The problem is for those in countries whose time zone is GMT (UTC) because in this zone it is not possible to edit or add a city at the correct time. When GMT (UTC) time setting is chosen for a city, it does not work, but reverts instead to the first setting in the list, which is Kabul time GMT+4:30 hours. All UK cities are set to this time, as are those in Portugal, Morocco, Sierra Leone and probably others that should be on the GMT time zone. Unless they try to add or edit a city, users in this time zone would not realise that their time is 4:30 hours early. You can set one of these cities to +1.00 or -1.00 hours but that is the closest you can get. This issue has been reported to the programmers but it has not been fixed yet.

Library upgrade?
What actually do you mean by "upgrading" the library? There are no revisions if that is what you mean, but as Doug said, you can add objects to it. File/ Catalogues/Import BIM is the best way to add 3D elements (objects) to the catalogue.3DS and SKP files can also be added but be careful not to import too many (some are very large) and the program can be then veryslow to use. Technically the Library is all the Textures etc in the Materials Library. You can
just right click in the Materials Library and add new textures (even your own photos).

Sorry, I do not understand the question.

In proprieties of render I can set up the north position.
I set up north at 260 degrees but shadows in reality are different.
There is a way to set up north perfectly?

Allan Chesney

Shadows are affected dramatically by the time of day setting also of course and you will also find a slightly difference between Basic and Advanced render the latter being more accurate if I recall. You would need to test it at a known date and time oombination

I believe you also need to set the location correctly: longitude and latitude; usually set by the city/country, as well as due north...which is geographical/map/meridan/longitudinal north I believe, not magnetic north which varies a lot around the globe.

But if you cannot select the right location because of the location bug, you can select a location at the same distance from the equator/latitude, and adjust for time differences for sunrise, hi noon, sunset etc. to offset any longitudinal errors.

As Allan suggested, best to run a test. Make a photo of a real location bldg, know where you are taking the photo, as well as camera settings (lens angle of view) and due north, and date and time.  Then create a model in TFP, set camera to same position as in photo including height above ground, same longitude/latitude, same date time, same camera view, compare render to photo....make corrections in model until you get an exact match to photo...then use same setup for similar design work.

Once set up correctly, renders will be accurate, but as Allan mentioned, basic vs. advanced renders are not exactly the same (but close), so setup TFP for the render type you plan to use if accurate renders are important...such as in shadow studies of roof overhangs protecting windows from sunlight.
