Hi

I've created a 2 storey house model in TFP, but when it comes up to the second floor, the balustrades just appear from out of the carpet. I've looked everywhere I can think, but no tools to create a hole in the floor for the stairs (and adjacent space.

Can anyone please tell me how to do this?

Thanks

You need to add a floor cutout to the second floor. search the User guide for Floor cutout and it will walk you through the steps.

Some tips regarding the floors and floors cutout

--> The ceiling / floor elevation is the bottom face of the ceiling / floor. This means that if the floor of the second floor (for example) is @ 108", and your 1st floor has a ceiling of 12", the ceiling elevation will be 96" and the settings of the cutout will be the same: elevation at 96"and thickness= 12"
--> If you used a manual floor in the upper floor, you must consider this thickness in the floor cutout
--> If the cutout is touching the perimeter of the room, I'd suggest that you create a manual floor outlining the "hole" to avoid problems with the borders
--> Sometimes, the shapes of the cutouts are odd (as circles, for example) => in this case, draw a shape with the 2D elements in the Detail tab => select the element=> Convert to => Floor cutout

Hope this helps,

Patricia
