struggling to create a sloped wall that follows some stairs

I started using using Turbo Floorplan pro v 12 recently and spent many hours playing with the "wall bottom" sloped wall setting and seeing no results thinking it was a bug, but I now see it was by design and that I may have to create a wall one floor above the one I want. This does not seem right, so I am posting here for thoughts.

What I want is an interior sloped wall with empty space below the stairs and wall where the stairs go up, as in the simple bmp I drew here. The wall is in the basement, the stairs go up to the first floor.

For many hours I tried many settings on the sloped wall setting and my wall stayed straight at the bottom, as far as I could see. Then as a test to post the question here, I created a new 2 story house with the wizard and created my wall on the second story and then I saw that the feet I put in for the wall slope are taken as below the floor level and my wall from the 2nd story came down into and below the ceiling of the 1st floor. That is when I realized that the picture in the parameter section indicated just that, the green and red square are the floor level and the slope is below floor level, I guess it was designed for foundations. It won't let me put a negative number, so all I could do to get close to my desired wall was to create a 1" high wall inside the the 1st floor with the slope in feet downwards to mimic my basement wall.

This seems like a crazy way to draw my wall, any more reasonable ideas?

Doing this on my phone so can't check at the moment but can't you just create the wall on the normal location, right click and elevate it to the height you want?

Howdy John!

In 2D mode, draw the wall you want then select it and Right Click.  Choose "Properties".  Choose the "Top and Bottom" tab and you will see that you can set 'Level', 'Slope', and 'Step' for the Wall Bottom  - the group of options in the lower part of the panel.  Choose "slope" and you can define a slope to the bottom of the wall.  You can add a break if only part of the wall must be sloped.

Yes! Elevation is the key. I can then slope below the level and elevate to the bottom of the sloped part. Not sure why I did not think of that before.

Glad it worked for you.  Some of the new features of walls are excellent compared to previous versions of FloorPlan.
