Hi All

I am wondering if I am alone in this problem.  We purchased the V17 Pro a few months ago as we needed as many plants in our database as possible.  The advertising said 7,500 in pro and 2,500 in Home.

First we were sent a link to V16, then when that was sorted and we got the right link (took quite some time, but we now have V17 Pro showing on the front screen) we have a max of 3,200 plants.  Strangely there is not even a tomato plant !

We have made several phone calls and sent many emails to UK and US and we are no further forward.  I know this is a cheap product, but I would expect the advertising to be basically honest.

I should mention that we are running on Windows 7 and just to rule everything out I loaded a clean verion of windows 7 on it first; just to be sure !

Does anyone have any ideas or is this just a standard package dressed up to look more than it is ?

I hope someone has some inspiration !

Cheers

Robert

Hi Robert,

If you check and count the plants using the Windows Explorer, you will verify that the numbers are right.
Did you notice that there are 2 libraries? Did you search by botanical name?
Anyway, if you don't find the exact plant, you can import your own plants using File => Import => Plant to library

Hope this helps

Hi Patricia

Thanks for your suggestions; actually it is my wife who is the gardener and I am a computer programmer  ( I therefore like to delude myself that I am pretty good at these things  :) :)

Yes I did find the 2 folders and that's where I came up with the figure of about 3,200.  I am just sure that I have been supplied with the "home" plant database with the "pro" software, but I can't get anyone at IMSI to believe me....mind you they didn't believe they'd sent me the link to V16 for the first 3 emails either !

The problem with the plant import is that I cannot get pictures without a background which makes them look very strange on my wife's designs.   Now here I am definitely out of my comfort zone, so if you know of somewhere that I can find pictures that work well (or a tool for removing extraneous background) I would be extremely grateful.

Thanks and Regards

Robert

Hi Robert,

Regarding the number of plants: again, check in the Explorer. Note that one of the libraries is divided in several folders (don't ask me why....)  :) Also notice that TFP V16 and TFP V17 are 2 different (and not related) products, with different features and libraries.

Anyway, you are correct, and there is not a tomato plant in TFP V17.

In order to import a plant, you need to mask the picture => this means to cover all the undesired areas using black color (RGB 0,0,0) => In TFP V17, the black color becomes transparent in the rendering process.
To find links for free plants, you can check my Facebook page. You will find also links for free graphic programs to easily mask the pictures
My Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/punchhelpers.links

Now, if you need step by step tutorials, please, check my e-books (see links below) They are 100% compatible with TFP V17

Let me know if you need additional help
