Newbie - question - whare are accessories?

Hi All - I started with the trial, bought the software. Started with a floor plan of first floor - now I'd like to add a basement under (my house is supposed to be sitting about 2' above grade on concreete walls foundation/basement. But on foundation tab, all it seems I can do is add peirs, slopes, etc. 3D view shows its right at ground level. Help?

Also - I see in the manual where under floor plan there's an Accessories tool, for drapes and the like. My version does not have. Should it?  Thanks!!

Hi John,

Foundations and first floor: Before you start, verify if the Default Ceiling Heights (Design Menu)are according with the heights of your project

First go to the second floor --> If you are working on the floor tab (or electrical, etc), you will see a small black arrow at the right of the name. By clicking the small arrow or on the tab's name, you have the option of viewing or hiding other tabs. In this case, check all the names so you can be sure that all the elements are visible --> Edit --> Select all --> Edit --> Move to Floor --> Upper --> Now your second floor become your 3rd floor
Repeat the process for the first floor, so it will become your second floor. Or in you have only one floor, just set the first as the second floor

Now, your first floor is clean, so you can develop your foundations

Usually, the walls of the first floor are part of the foundation, so, if you wish to show just the 24", you will have a first floor with walls H= 24"
If your house has already 3 levels --> select the walls --> Edit --> set object elevation --> increase 24" to the elevation
Alternatively, add 24" to the height of the first floor

Accessories: You are not stating the name of your version. Deluxe or Pro?. Deluxe is a very basic program. It doesn't include accessories like blinds, curtains, etc. The Pro version includes these elements.

Thank you! So I now have a first floor (basement) that is shown all above ground - is theer a way to "sink" it into the ground (give it a starting elevation of -6' or something?) Or - can I build up the landscape around it? I saw some pic's that showed sloping lots, etc - I hope those are not just in the Pro version!

Yes, there are 2 ways to do this:
1 - Select each floor and change the working elevation (walls, etc)
2 - Create a topo element with the desired elevation

Hi Patricia - I had some success - however, when I inserted a topo with a sloped lot - now I have just the lot on top of what looks like a big mesa! See pic- is this right? Pretty odd.
Last - I was able to create pretty much correct roof - but they don't seem to have gable ends or soffits when viewed in 3-D - how do I get that?

please follow the image attached in my previous post. You can set a rectangle shape and create a building pad with the desired elevation

Walls: use the different wall shapes (click on the Wall Style button - right pane) to create the desired gable or other shapes.

TFP, as any program, has a learning curve. The best way to learn the program, IMO, is practice + practice + practice => Read and follow the manual (this is important), see the videos => try to create elements not related with your project, so you will become familiar with the commands and how to develop the different components.
