Export options for v16 successor?

I'm still using TFP v16 with much pleasure. I briefly looked at v17, which I had bought not knowing that it would be so different. One capability that is sorely missing is exporting to other 3D formats, which is essential for me.

I believe there has been mentioning of a TFP "successor", i.e., another program that is compatible with TFP v16. What are the export capabilities of these programs? Any information on this will be appreciated.

There are a number is programs around that are compatible (all based on the professional architects program called Envisioneer). The one that is closest in functionality and price however is Personal Architect. It has the same export capabilities as V16 and is essentially identical, but it has advanced also, so has additional new features including a new rendering engine.

v16 is still working fine for me, but it's good to know about alternatives moving forward.

I've recently evaluated Personal Architect V5 and although there are some improvements to match Envisioneer 10 there are also some functions missing that were previously in TFP 16 Pro.

Namely, there does not seem to be an "Import DXF" function and the "Insert Roof Skylight" is no longer there.

Additionally, the Help file seems to be for PA V4 as there is no mention of the new 3D functions but there is for Import DXF & Insert Skylight (which don't exist).

Maybe this will be corrected in an updated version.

Otherwise PA V5 seems to be a good follow on for TFP 16 Pro & I would recommend it for new users or those with much older TFP versions looking to upgrade.
