Where is the "selection" leaking through these walls?

The first picture shows the front room has been selected.  The 27" thick wall to the right was drawn using the mouse.

The second picture shows that the front room AND the dining room have been selected, even though I only clicked on the living room.  The 27" was in the first picture was broken in two places and deleted.  The new 4" wall was drawn using the mouse from the bottom exterior wall but stopped short of the 27" wall.  The top end of the 4" wall was then "nudged" using the keyboard arrows to connect to the 27" wall.  (And then I had to "nudge" it to the right to try and get the living room - side faces to line up.  There's got to be a better way!).  Clearly the selection process has "leaked through" to the dining room caused by, I assume, some "hole" in the new wall.

Yet as far as I can tell - the third picture - the endpoints of the 4" wall are buried into the bottom exterior wall and the top 27" wall.

Where is the selection leaking through?

The walls look odd, with lines missing. I'd suggest that you contact the technical assistance dept.
