How do you add crown mould and baseboard trim on the end of a wall or over the edge of an opening. Can you put crown mould at 45 degrees to wall/ceiling.

You could possibly trick it for the end of a wall by making the wall half the thickness and bring is around the corner and back against itself. Bit of a pain but should work as there is no end as such.

Alternative and for openings is to create a piece you can use any time by using the Interior Accessories / Decorative / Custom Member using the baseboard and crown as the texture.  Also a bit of a pain but the only ways I know of.

45 degrees is possible using the custom Member but not practical as you have to set lengths and elevation.

I suspect you can edit or add another profile through one of the options under File / Catalogs but have not had time to investigate this yet.

So far the only thing I have found that functions with profiles are columns. These profileswould be particularly useful in giving depth to trim. Pity they aren't available there.

I used sketch up to make a profile with a right angle at top & back then pulled it to 8'. Then once its imported into TFP you can uncheck the proportional scaling box and dial in what ever length you need. With collision turned off inside corners cope fine, outside corners would have to be made separately with 2 opposing mitered corners. Lot of fussing but worth it if you need the detail.

it looks like you tried to attach a file picture to show your results and help explain the method....but I get a red "x" instead of the image which would be very helpful

Like Doug, I have the same problem. All your other posts with attachements do the same thing. I thought if may have been just something on my PC.  What format is the image? JPG is best as it is small in size. I would assume the Forum would also take GIF and BMP.  If it is not one of there three that may expalin the red cross... or is it from a Mac?

Right click/Properties on the red X gives a link to a jpg on Yahoo. Copy/Pasting this into the Address bar gives a Yahoo Forbidden - 'you do not have permission...' message. So looks the red X is because only PoleCat has access to the jpg, (rather than not being a jpg). Probably better to just post the actual jpg.
