Problem selecting walls on the first floor.

 Three days ago I downloaded a free trial of the TurboFLOORPLAN Home & Interior. I immediately loved it and planned to buy it. Today I drew a plan up on the software and everything was perfectly fine (well atleast of what I know) then I wanted to see it in 3D. All the walls that I had drew where extremely short (like they were only an inch high) and I couldn't figure out why. When I went to select a wall, it wouldn't be selected at all. I mean nothing happened. When I move to the second floor however, things are perfectly fine (except the walls are short). When I open up a new project, everything is fine. My first project still works good too. It's just this one. It is especially depressing to me because I spent 5 or 6 hours trying to perfect it.

Hi, Welcome to TurboFloorplan and the forum.  I think you will find that your first impressions will continue once you get used to the program and understand how it works.

First - if you are having problems selecting things it could be caused by Hardware Acceleration. Check Settings/Program Settings/Graphics and if it is on, try turning it off. Depending on the configuration of your PC, video drivers etc, it can cause this and all sorts of different problems on different PCs.
Also - you can only select things on the floor you are on.  If you were an the second floor, you could not select things on the ground floor for example.

Second - Wall height (Ceiling height and door/window height) are controlled by the Settings/Building Locations.  This would be the first place to check for your short walls although there would seem to be no reason for this to change from the default setting of 2438mm (or 8ft) unless you changed it without realising. If the Location is wrong, change it to what it should be. This will not change the existing walls but future ones will be correct.  The walls can be individually set also by turning off the 'auto extend' and setting the wall height manually. Right click the wall, select Properties and see what height the wall is. If it is wrong change select each wall and change the height or set the Auto Extend on.  You can select all the walls to change all of them at once but clicking and holding down the shift key as you select the others. In doing this only select walls (turn off the ceiling (eye icon) if it gets in the way) and only select walls of the same type.

If none of the above solve the problem don't dispair - attach the BLD file to your reply (Click Additional Options below to attach) so we can see what the problem is.  I am sure it can be fixed!

Another general tip for selecting things....

If you can't seem to select something in a 2D view...try a 3D view, select, return to a 2D view (your selection wil not be selected in 2D now), then menu/edit/select previous....and what you had selected in 3D last will now be selected in 2D

This works vice-versa too....select in 2D and edit/select previous to select it in 3D.

And in same view if you wish to re-select what you selected last...especially useful when in a cluttered view or on a different location

Also, in any view, zoom-in close.... makes selecting easier sometimes
