Help w/elevations

Still have the issue of some elevation lines being yellow and no way to change it that I can find.  None of the line properties in the walls make a difference.

Elevations question:  Is there any way to add some type of a hash to the roof and or walls so they are not just outlines.  I exported as .DFX and hatched them in AutoCad but when they import the hatch does not come over. 

The roofs look a lot better with a mild hatch to them in the elevations and I know I have done it before but I can not get this to work now.

Hi Rex,

By default the roof does come with a hatched pattern but you will not see it unless you switch to Patterned View. You may want to change the pattern (or the scale of it) and maybe delete it from other objects that may also have a pattern assigned that you don't want.

What are the lines that are appearing as yellow? Can you post an image so I can have a look at them? Usually with Elevations in Pattern View the colours only show up as black anyway so that may solve your problem.

I get a different result and attach two pictures.  All are the same file and same elevation.

Hi Rex,

The yellow elements in your first image appear to be the window and door Trim and Skirting Board (Baseboard), obviously applied to the Exterior surface of the walls. All you need to do is go into the Wall Properties (Trim tab / Exterior) and either delete the Trim elements from the Exterior or, if they are required, select each Trim element and change its line colour.

In the second image it almost looks as though the wall surfaces are turned off in the view filter. Just make sure everything is turned on and a Linestyle is selected, on the Appearance tab, for each Wall and Roof element (and a Pattern for the Surface of course).

I found a part of the problem.  I had hardware acceleration on and with it off the hatch does show up.

Hi Rex,

I always have Hardware Acceleration on. If you have to turn it off for some reason, it could indicate the video card driver on your PC needs to be updated. You may find the program runs a bit show with it turned off.

My drivers are all up to date and my video card is reasonably high end and more recent than TFP is. 

Not sure why things don't seem to work and yes it does run at a slow pace without the acceleration on.

Hi Rex,

Sorry but I just realised while doing the other post that I had not actually replied to this one. 

I opened your model and when I look at the elevation views in Patterned View the pattern assigned shows OK, with Hardware Acceleration on or off - makes no difference.

These types of display problems are usually a video card issue. If you are sure the driver is up to date, then you could try to tweak the settings in the driver itself and reduce the acceleration just slightly - this may help with the speed issue and clear the display problem at the same time.
