Some Automatic Dimensioning funkyness

To the best of my knowledge and belief whenever I ticked on "2D" > "Automatic Dimensioning" the exterior wall dimensions have always been measured from outside edge to outside edge.  I've gone back and looked at several older drawings and that's always been the case.  And in the forum when some other poster asked about wall dimensioning one of the responses was "The walls in the perimeter of a project are always showed with their exterior dimensions (as usual in the construction industry) because they reflect the project general size. Check any permit plan and you will see the same feature."

However, for whatever reason a recent drawing - a modification of a prior drawing - is now showing the exterior walls as measured from interior face to interior face.  The attached pictures illustrate the differences.

I'm just not seeing where to affect how this particular dimension is drawn clicking on "2D" > "Dimensioning & Fonts" or elsewhere.

Hi there,

The exterior dimensions of the walls in the perimeter of a project are always surface to surface. You can't change this.
If this appears different is because the perimeter is not a closed polygon => analyze the perimeter and confirm if the exterior walls are perfectly linked.

Hi:

The exterior walls do appear to be perfectly "linked" but not perfectly "square" or "straight", although a roof is being generated, with soffits.  I'm guessing this dimension issue has something to do with this

The new drawing began with the old drawing - where dimensions were shown correctly - and the interior was pretty much wiped out.  The only change to the exterior walls occurred in the lower part of the drawing so I'm mystified as how the walls that were untouched are no longer straight.

Hi:

I worked on the drawing getting the walls both square and straight and the dimension issue solved itself.

It's still not clear to me how this is happening but I guess I'll have to try and remember to always check the perimeter when I encounter problems.

The walls in the perimeter can be be straight or curved, but each segment must follow an axis. They must conform a closed polygon. Otherwise, the dims show the projection (outlined in green in the image) or they act as interior walls (pointed in red in the image)
