nudging 1mm at a time possible?

I have turned off the snap settings so I can use the cursor to nudge a wall or object in small increments but I still get things moving 2-3mm at a time rather than 1mm which means I'm having trouble getting exact measurements in some areas. Can anyone tell/show where to alter the settings so I can nudge at this precision please?

Actually, it is the opposite, you should turn ON the snaps, but you need to set the correct snap settings. Follow these steps:
1 - Units => set the desired precision (mm in this case)
2 - Edit => Preferences => Snap Settings => set the snaps On (see attached)
3 - Design => Options => Snap Grid => set as desired (see attached)

Another option => Select the point => Edit => Move => write the desired distance with the desired precison

Thank you for the detailed information Patricia. I set those grid options down to 1mm, it was at 50mm before but I'm still getting jumps of 10mm when selecting a wall and moving it up or down. However it seemed to work better without snapping to the grid, I though that's how I was able to make small nudges against the program wanting to go to the nearest grid line. 1mm in both directions should work but it's not.
I'm confused.

Did you try the second method? => Select the point => Edit => Move => write the desired distance with the desired precision.

In addition, instead of nudging to get the exact dimension you can use the "wall#" and "arrow#" tools => write the desired dimension

Yes the input method works ok but it is slower this way. Nudging with the cursor would have made it more friendly and faster. I'll persevere with it and see how it pans out, I'm using the trial at the moment and deciding between two programs to purchase. All the best and thanks again.

Home design programs are not precision programs, they are 3D conceptual programs. For this reason, you can use 1 mm to adjust a dimension, but IMO it doesn't make sense extend a wall 1 mm each time. Especially because you can set the exact dimension in mm with the # tools. Actually, in my 35 years as Architect, I didn't see a conceptual project developed in mm. To develop a project in mm with a precision = 1/264, I'd use a CAD program. But then, it would be a 2D program.
