The garage floor and ceiling are 36" lower than the rest of my house. Is there a way to change the floor and ceiling elevation?

Hi there,

you can create a manual ceiling (floor tab => floor tool) => select the element => set the elevation using the elevation bar.

I tried that on one room and it worked. I also tried framing the garage and inputting a negative number but it would't accept it. So I take it I have to frame the house and give it a positive number. It didn't raise the windows or doors and didn't appear to raise the ceiling from the overhead view. Do I need to start over?

You are mixing the subjects. The levels' elevation can be + or - but the elevation of the components (doors, windows, etc.) are relative to the floor elevation.
You will find this information in the part 3 of the user guide, starting at page 259

Ok I made a simple model of two rooms. I clicked in one of the rooms and the floor changed colors in that room only. I clicked edit/adjust entire floor elevation and entered -36. Using the walk through camera there was no difference in the floor elevations of the two rooms.

I'd suggest that you review the user guide to clarify the different concepts: one concept is the definition of the project settings (page 109) with the different levels of a project, another concept is the control of the flooring of a room (page 125)

Please, review the elevation concepts in the user guide, or if you are interested, my eBook includes a full chapter called "Understanding the elevations"
