Inputing an image for purposes of tracing.

I have just loaded IMSI floorplan 3d. I wish to import an image of an existing floor plan (Presently in JPG format but I can change that to other image formats with photoshop).

I have been unable to figure out how to do this. Can it be done with this software.

I have read many of the items on the "Help section of this forum but do not seem to find an answer to this situation.

I am a wiring volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and have been doing the wiring coordination for our building  Projects. This involves laying out the position of all of the wiring features on the blueprint provided by the architect who does not provide an electronic copy.

I am presently doing this with paper and pencil and to be able to import the plan, trace it and then add all the electrical elements would speed up this process greatly.

Any help would be appreciated.

First of all we just need to clarify what program you have. Is it TurboFloorplan V12 or FloorPlan 3D (V11 or earlier)?

If it is V12 you are in the right place - see the Trace Image subject above.  If you have V11 you are on the wrong Forum. V11 does not allow for tracing an image unless you import it into a mirror laid flat. It does not provide for electrical circuits either, so I assume you have V12, which does.

I have floorplan v11. Can this be updated to v12?

No -V12 is totally new and cannot open V11 files. Check IMSIDesign or Cadcource - you might be able to get a discount because of having V11. If you get it get the Pro version,
