Hello,
I get the following message when I try to open a file I've been working on ...

"Unable to access the requested template file. The file may be in use or you may not have sufficient access rights. ()".

All was ok until I accientally did a hard turn off of the pc. An ideas?

cheers

Bob

Hi Bob,

Welcome to the Forum.

I am not really a technical person from the computer side of things so others may be able to give more specific help but it sounds as though it has lost contact with the Start up template. You did not say whether it opens or not. If not then the only option may be to reinstall.

If it does open try going to Settings / Program Settings / General tab and select a new Startup template. It can be any BLD file which you can then modify and save as your  default that will then always have your preferred Locatio settings etc.

On the same dialog box are the file paths. You may have to Modify the Templates Directory if it has lost that also.

I have seen the same error message when I attempted to open a file that I had delted, and forgot that I had delted it. It was still showing up under "recent", and I clicked on it, and got that same message.

I think either the filename might have gotten changed, or the file was moved or damaged when you did a hard restart, ot as Allan says, the templates may be the answer.....something might have gotten goofed up.

Many thanks for your welcome and replies. Found out that there was a backup file and that worked just fine.
